When doing email marketing (or any marketing) you need to be very strategic. In this post I am going to go over my top 5 best email marketing tips you can use right away!

#1: Human headline

When writing the headline of your email, write it as if you were writing a quick email to a friend. If you are promoting a product and you are sending out a sales email, don’t write the headline like “MAKE CA$H NOW – BUY THIS”

If an email with that headline actually makes it to the persons inbox and not their spam folder, that might get a lot of opens. However, the people opening these emails that will actually buy whatever is in that email are most likely not going to be a very “high quality” person. Anyone that is fairly smart that you would want to work with is not going to like getting emails like that.

Instead, write the headline like”did you see this yet?” or “hah did you see this yet?!”

Write the email NON spammy, yet peak their interest!

#2: Congruency

Congruency (aka: What you say lines up and is relevant) is very important. If you say “Hey FREE training” in your headline, yet when they open your email it says.. “this will be free after you complete *Blah Blah Blah*”, you will piss off a lot of email subscribers.

Another BAD example is “YOU JUST EARNED A COMMISSION”, then the person opens the email and it says.. “I just love when I get those emails!”

I dont know about you but I HATE getting those emails. If you hate getting those emails too, you should probably not send those yourself if you want high quality subscribers.

#3: “Squeeze” like a lemon

One of the most useful tips I ever learned in email marketing in “squeezing” an email broadcast. What I mean is, when you send out an email broadcast to your list(s), you can see all of the people who did not open your email. Segment the people who didn’t open that email, copy the previous email and send to all of the “unopens”. A few hours later, you can check again to see who did NOT open that email. Again, send to all of the people who didn’t open that email. You can keep doing this several times to get the most out of your email broadcast without continuously sending the SAME email to people who have already opened that email and may already have taken action on what you were trying to get them to do.

#4: High quality, Consistent and free

The goal here is to develop a LARGE COMMUNITY of fanatical followers/subscribers who are craving to devourer your content on a daily basis. The way you do this is through providing, high quality, consistent free value to your list. When you do this, your email subscribers are not only going to know, like and trust you, BUT they are also going to be sitting on the edge of their seats by their computer (well maybe not exactly but they will be exited) ready to open your emails!

When you create a community like that, it will be NO problem to sell or promote your products and services. In fact, your subscribers will be more than happy to buy from you.

#5: Cultivate the right email subscribers

Depending on your email copy (what you are saying in your emails) you will attract a certain type of person. The more spammy type emails you write just to get someone to buy something, naturally the lower quality list you will cultivate.

If you are being honest, open and provide real content that helps people, you will attract higher quality people and intermediate to advanced marketers they are eager to learn from the way you write YOUR emails.

Cultivating higher quality email subscribers naturally leads to people who are action takers, people who don’t whine and complain (very much if at all), people who actually are willing to spend money and even those who will reach out to help you!
