If you are just starting out with video marketing, it can be a little challenging. You may ask yourself.. “how do I even make a video?”, “What do I even say?”, “What will people think of my video?”

In this post, I will show you that making videos are not as hard as what you may think, plus ill give you some cool tips!

If you don’t know anything about video marketing or how to even create a video..

#1: Intent

Intent of your video is absolutely key. You need to know the EXACT message you want your viewers to get. You do not want your subscribers guessing what you are trying to say or teach in your video due to your lack of planning for the message.

Although you may think this is pretty obvious “obviously Ryan, why just put up a video and blabber?” Well, you would be surprised how many people actually do that.

So instead of making a video that says, “How to train your dog to behave” and then just going on and on about how to help some one train their dog to behave….

..Say, “3 Tips To Train Your Dog How To Behave”, and then break down the 3 tips in order to make sense of what your message is about.

#2: Script

When you have your intent or understand what your message is about in your video.. its time to start putting those thoughts on paper. When I say “script” your video, I don’t mean write out every single word and read of off a teleprompter (although you could do that). The problem with reading off of a word-for-word script for most new people is that they sound like a robot and non genuine.

What I would suggest is write out a few bullet points on what you want your message to be about in your video. If you want to talk about “3 tips to XYZ” then write these 3 tips down on paper and expound on those tips with a sentence or two.

#3: Loosen up

Being tense in any situation in no good. Once you have your intent and a script or a few bullet points on what you want to talk about in your video, its time to shoot your video!

If making videos or being in front of the camera doesn’t come natural to you (for some it does), when its time to actually shoot your video you may feel a little tense.

Its time to LOOSEN UP!

Before you start your video if you do find yourself a little tense, yell out loud how excited you are about making this video, run round the block visualizing how GREAT your video is about to be, picture how many people you could potentially impact from creating this content or do some positive self talk into the mirror!

What ever you have to do to get yourself into a positive, up beat state, do it!

The purpose for this is not to be crazy on your videos. The purpose of loosening up and getting into the right state of mind for your video is to come across NATURAL. The more natural and yourself you can be on the video, the better of a vibe your subs will have when consuming your content!

#4: Bonus! Background..

Having what marketers call a “Hypnotic background” can be very helpful with the retention (how long people watch your video) of your videos.

A hypnotic background could be and ocean, mountains, a water fall, a field of flowers, anything that subconsciously makes the person feel good while they are watching your video. There have been many tests that prove having a hypnotic background or some type of background that is very attractive, actually improves the viewer retention rate of your video.

If you are starting out and are having a hard time finding a hypnitic backgroun… Please, do not get hung up on this!

Just get started. Get better with the message of your video and figure out the background later!
